Lake House is nestled on the shores of idyllic Lake Daylesford in the heart of Victoria’s Spa Country. The town offers an eclectic mix of artists studios, cafes, award winning restaurants, boutique day spas and holistic healing centres, the Spa Country exudes a sophisticated bohemian feel.

A popular haunt of seasoned travellers, Lake House boasts one of Australia's top restaurants, a New York Wine Spectator award winning wine list of some 10,000 bottles. The menu offers modern Australian cuisine paying homage to the region's excellent seasonal produce.

Exploring the property is in itself an adventure. Guests may like to have a hit of tennis followed by tea and refreshments in the tennis pavilion, a glass of wine by the open fire or a game of billiards in the Lounge. Given the opportunity to explore the gardens guests will come upon the Kitchen Garden planted out with edible shoots and flowers, a myriad of sculptures and artwork from many of the region’s top artists, extensive outdoor terraces overlooking the lake shore and established country gardens with everything from koala loved stringy barks to lilac, Daphne, quince, plum and apple trees.

The Salus Day Spa is an oasis of tranquillity and offers guests an indulgent way to “take to the waters” with all manner of hydrotherapy on offer. Two tree house cabins overlook Lake Daylesford and house hot mineral water tubs – perfect for a pre –pamper soak.

Waterfront Room: These picturesque rooms complete with balconies overlook lake Daylesford. They have a plush sofa and armchair with botanical prints. Provincial style chairs and desk are set beneath a collection of local historic photographs, prints and original artwork from Resident Artist Allan Wolf-Tasker’s on site studio. Flat screen televisions with a selection of cable channels, IPOD docking stations and free wifi are all at your fingertips. The contemporary ensuite includes dual shower. Bedding 1 King Bed. Waterfront Suite: With prime position overlooking the lagoon and the shores of lake Daylesford - each suite features a plush sofa, with locally sourced Merino Wool throws, textured armchairs and soft furnishings in chartreuse, citron, champagne gold and mustard yellows. Suites feature original artwork from resident artist Allan Wolf-Tasker’s onsite studio. A stone topped bar is stocked with regionally sourced sips and nibbles, Salus Spa’s own sparkling mineral water, Nespresso Coffee machines. The Lake House Restaurant: A team passionate about hospitality delivers beautiful cutting edge, seasonal food matched with an internationally acclaimed wine list. Under the direction of Executive Chef Alla Wolf Tasker and Head Chef David Green the kitchen work from the ground up producing virtually everything, from house baked breads to an extensive charcuterie range, on the premises.

Regular guests will tell you of their favourite season and of memorable dishes. Perhaps the butter poached pheasant with chestnuts and Farrow in Autumn, the spring lamb with asparagus and morels. The duck with orange braised witlof; the golden roasted free range chicken of summer with corn and yabbies, or the truffled Pecorino tart with artichokes Barigoule, eel, Murray Cod and trout; rabbit and hare, speak of local waterways and fields.

During the day, the sunlit restaurant offers magnificent views through wonderfully large windows. Guests enjoying drinks at dusk on the outdoor terraces will witness the daily ritual of our resident kookaburra family flying in to be fed.
